L.A. Irish Film Festival

Gallery 13 – Irish Fine Art
was pleased to be part of the 1st LA Irish Film Festival.

It happened October 2nd – 5th at the beautiful Clarity Theatre, 100 North Cresent Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

Linda Brunker’s sculpture and Gregory Toal’s paintings on canvas adorned the beautiful circular glass atrium reception area which was also the venue for the opening and closing night events. Both received a terrific response from Film festival attendees and the public who passed through the building.

The festival showcased the richness of Irish culture through cinema and celebrated Ireland’s recent artistic revolution.  A diverse program which included feature films, documentaries and short films were shown in this four day non-competitive festival. It opened with the west coast premiere of ‘Eden’ directed by Declan Recks and closed with two rare Irish silent films accompanied by a live orchestral score composed and conducted by Eimer Noone with hauntingly beautiful vocals by Naomi Coleman.  Directors, producers and cast were invited to present their films in person and participate in discussions with the audience in a relaxed, creative atmosphere.  If you did’nt make it along watch out for next year’s festival.  It promises to be a ‘not to be missed’ event!
